This is the month folks! This is the one where the stuff comes out and we all shout…or maybe that was last month and this is the follow up month where there’s only one good game. I don’t know, I’m not a games analyst! I’m just a chubby man with a chubby plan and that plan is: playing video games.
Hello Neighbour – Due 08.12 for Xbox One and PC
This is that one good game that comes out this month that isn’t a remake or Game of the Year edition! Hello Neighbor looks like a pretty intense survival horror stealth where you’re tasked with using your special skills to stealth into a neighbour’s house and find out what their terrible secret is. I’m excited to play a game where the A.I. changes, making the game more complex the further into it you get.
LocoRoco 2 Remastered – Due 09.12 for PS4
One of the remasters of this month, LocoRoco 2 was such a weird puzzle game when it came out for PSP in 2008 and I’m happy that people will now be able to experience its unique charm on the big screen. If you played this back in the day or you’re new to the franchise, this is definitely one to play if you like being filled with whimsy as you roll around cute characters.
Okami HD – Due 12.12 for PS4, Xbox One and PC
Okami is by far one of the best games that has ever existed! It’s one of my PS2 favourites and I’ve always been a little bit sad that it didn’t get the mainstream success and notoriety that it really did deserve. Hopefully this HD remake will gain the attention that it so rightfully deserves, but even if it doesn’t, I’m still super stoked to take my celestial brush out for an adventure again and relive one of the best games in recent memory.
Horizon: Zero Dawn: Complete Edition – Due 05.12 for PS4
Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the best new IPs (Intellectual Properties) that has come out in a long time and a game that finally merged dinosaurs and robots and brought my dreams to life. Luckily for me they’re bringing it out again but now with all the DLC and extra junk attached to it which is good if like me you sold your copy and want to play it again or if you’ve never played it and want a sweet Christmas game to play.
Honourable Mentions
VR is looking hot this month, finally time to get some use out of those space age techno goggles.
Doom VFR – Due 01.12 for PS4 and PC
Doom was a super fun game when it came out and now we can look forward to murdering waves of demon hordes as the Doomslayer but now with all the intensity of being in hell itself.
Fallout 4 VR – Due 12.12 for HTC Vive
Fallout 4 was such a great game of exploration and nuclear survival that adding a VR version is such a perfect addition that it’s a shame that it is exclusive to the HTC Live as this could be one of the games to take VR forward a step.
