Sometimes you need a TV in a size that no other manufacturer makes, luckily for you, Hisense has appeared in the background to offer you a 45 inch TV that looks to offer you a whole myriad of features without breaking the bank.
I’ll be honest I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 45 inch TV but apparently, according to Hisense market research, 45 inch is the size that everyone who’s somebody wants for their main room and after listening to their audience this is what they decided on. Whether it becomes more popular than 40 or 50 is yet to be seen but I guess we’ll find out.
Let’s start, as we do with most things, with the design of the set. Hisense has for a long time been a manufacturer that spends its money on the spec of the TV whilst letting the build of the TV fall by the wayside, the N5750 is no different in this respect but at the same time, this unit does upgrade on the aesthetics looking better than some of the previous iterations.
Let’s now look at what the TV can actually do. Like most modern units this is, of course, a 4K UHD TV but in a surprising turn it also capable of HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) something that you don’t see as much of in budget sets. These functionalities, of course, mean that it can show you the best and brightest of colours and lighting and receive broadcasts from the major channels once they start broadcasting it. Forgetting all the TV related words once you sit down to view the Hisense you’re given a pretty accurate representation of any image up to 4k UHD and I was pretty impressed when watching Planet Earth in SD, HD and even UHD. I’d be lying if I didn’t mention that there were some better models around the Hisense but you’re looking at a rise in price to get a rise in quality.
Functionality wise it offers you the standard smart functionality and does so whilst utilising a quad core processor so you get a pretty decent ability to stream via the included services such as Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and BBC iPlayer. This processor also carries over to the inbuilt web browser which is quite quick when searching but is of course slightly slower than a home pc or laptop. Also if you own an android phone or a windows laptop you can utilise Anyview cast or stream to showcase any media you may have and mirror it straight to the TV.
Connections are pretty standard with it having 3 HDMIs in (2 HDMI 2.0 with HDCP2.2) and two USB, one of which can be used to create a USB PVR so you can record directly from Freeview without the need for a larger recorder box. It also has optical out for digital sound and 3.5 headphone out for analog sound, and if you have any legacy devices it also has component and composite in so you can still connect it up to your trusty VCR. Rounding off the connection is an RF in so you can tune it into both Freeview and Freeview HD.
For me the Hisense 45N5750 is a solid TV with a lot to offer for the price and whilst it may not set the world on fire it’ll still give you a decent bang for your buck, and of course like most things in life there’s always a decision to be made so if you need help with this TV or any others then don’t hesitate to ring up or pop into your local store.
