Product review: JBL E25BT Bluetooth in-ear headphones

In the past, Bluetooth headphones have usually been reserved for the on, or over, ear types. It’s good to have a selection of Bluetooth headphones available so let’s see what these little beauts have to offer…

The E25BT have everything you’d expect for a Bluetooth in-ear headphone. Lightweight? Check. At just 16.5g you hardly notice them. Essential for their day to day use. They’re small, compact and come with a handy little carry pouch for when you’re not using them. Though with a massive 8 hour battery life I’m sure you’ll be using them all the time when you’re travelling about. Included is also a selection of ear buds so you should be able to find a size to fit any ears. There’s also a neat little clip that will hook onto the back of your clothes so you hardly feel a thing. It soon becomes apparent that the headphones are meant to be worn with the cables behind for an almost sporty look. Again like their bigger brother, there’s a 3 button remote control with mic so answering calls whilst out on the go isn’t a chore and is done at the touch of a button. It’s all well and good answering phones calls but how does it sound for music.

With a quoted frequency response of 20Hz – 20kHz, I’m expecting big things. Instantly you can tell that these aren’t going to be the type of headphone you can sit at home with. They lack a bit of depth and struggle a bit with the low notes. Hardly a surprise though given the price just how small they are. The sound comes from a tiny 8mm driver so if it’s thumping bass you’re after, then you’ll need to go elsewhere. What these lack in terms of bass, they make up for in clarity and rhythm. The E25BT produce a high-quality vocal range and are definitely an improvement over any standard headphone you get free with a phone or tablet. They aren’t too harsh and produce a pleasing sound that you could listen to on the tube or simply walking around. The ear tips included seem to block out most outside noise so you won’t be disturbed. A really good little headphone that a lot of people should be more than happy with.
