Top games for October 2015

Untitled-1

As it stands, 2015 has been a phenomenal year for games with both new and old franchises setting our consoles ablaze. The month of October will be no different and is set to carry on a great gaming holiday season with some of the biggest series and new takes on old-school classics…

‘Halo 5: Guardians’ was developed by 343 Industries.

‘Halo 5: Guardians’ – Microsoft Games
Due October 27th Xbox One

‘Halo 5: Guardians’ is a game that will no doubt be on the mind of most Xbox One owners, and will more than likely be one of the biggest hits of 2015. Even without any local co-op options ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ will still be a must have so fans can see how the grand story of Master Chief will be continued. If you’ve not played any of the ‘Halo’ series before I would strongly recommend whetting your pallet while you wait for this release, you won’t be disappointed.

‘Assassins Creed: Syndicate’ – Ubisoft
Due October 23rd for Xbox One, PS4, PC

With ‘Assassins Creed’ now becoming a yearly franchise, and having some recent missteps, ‘Assassins Creed: Syndicate’ looks to shake things up by going to London in the 1860’s and having you play as identical twins. With new methods of transport, such as trains and carriages, and introducing refined methods of combat and stealth it looks to be the game to really get the series going again, hopefully a true return to form!

‘WRC 5: FIA World Rally Championship’ – Sony
Due October 16th for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS Vita

Rally Games on consoles are in short supply nowadays with it being a few years since the last big entry and ‘Dirt Rally’ so far being a PC exclusive. ‘WRC 5’ will change that by not only being the newest console rally game but also the first to be on the current generation of consoles. Graphically improved and with all the best of rally cars and rally locations ‘WRC 5’ should be on the list of any motor-sport fan.

The Auto-Bots return with this fantastically retro reincarnation of an old classic.

‘Transformers Devastation’ – Activision
Due October 9th for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

‘Transformers Devastation’ is a possible sleeper hit for October. Based on generation one of the Transformers from the 1980s and with a similar art style it looks to rekindle the love of Autobots and Decepticons by allowing you to smash and crash robot parts in this beat ‘em up combo extravaganza. Developed by PlatinumGames Inc (Bayonetta series, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), ‘Transformers’ has the huge action pedigree and shouldn’t fail to amaze.

‘WWE 2K16’ – 2K Sports
Due October 30th for Xbox one, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360

Coming straight out of the gates after 2014’s frankly abysmal ‘WWE 2K15’, ‘WWE 2K16’ has a mountain of redemption to climb, luckily so far it looks like it may ascend. Boasting a roster of over 120 superstars (at launch) a story mode dedicated to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and multiple tweaks, improvements and re-designs on last year’s game engine, ‘2K16’ shows a developer listening and learning from their critics.
