Monitor Audio’s new Monitor series aims to deliver true hi-fi sound to any budget.
Monitor Audio are a brand usually associated with a more high-end speaker market and understandably so, with some of the Platinum series coming in close to £20k, (eek!). But don’t let that put you off; they also offer a Gold, Silver and Bronze series, which are much closer to Earth. If anything, that stunning £20k price point can be seen as a reassurance. For a brand to charge so much for any product means that it has at least some idea what they are doing. In turn, it means the technology and experience will filter down to the more entry level market, which is wonderful news for the consumer, making it possible to get true hi-fi quality sound in your home without having to remortgage the house or sell a kidney.
For a few years now Monitor Audio have held the crown for some of the best mid-range speakers with their fantastic Bronze series, but what about the other half of the market, the entry level market? Whilst major brands such as Q Acoustic and DALI have a few models filling that void, there has been a lack of Monitor Audio offerings.
Well, the time has come for Monitor Audio to fill that void, with their latest series the creatively named Monitor series (clever, eh?).
Combining the same C-cam dome tweeter from the award-winning Bronze series, Monitor Audio promise a truly musical performance from the new range, trying to not cut any corners in the process. Taking a quick glance at the new series, it’s a refreshing change in terms of the overall design. Not sticking with a familiar look, the brand appears to have opted for a more “classic” approach, which bears resemblance to some B&W DM100 speakers from the 1980’s which I can imagine will be a huge hit with some of the older generation and newer ones alike, with all speakers in the range being available in black, white and walnut finishes. With “vintage” appeal as popular as ever, I can see a younger audience appreciating these as well. It’s really refreshing to see a huge brand like this stray away from what they know, lets hope it pans out!
Monitor Audio have all bases covered as well, in fact there’s an entire 5.1 range available:
Whether you’re looking for a pair of speakers for for a more traditional hi-fi system, or a dynamic 5.1 home cinema system that won’t break the bank, the Monitor series is definitely worth your consideration. With a rich, full sound that pulls out incredible amounts of detail, they could be a perfect choice for any number of musical tastes. Why not come in to your local Richer Sounds today and hear these fantastic speakers for yourself?
