Richer Unsigned: Artist of the week – Sour Cherry

Sour Cherry are a perfect example of enthusiasm for music. Their unapologetic variety of Pop, coupled with their exuberant live shows and enthusiastic charisma proves this Sheffield four-piece are the real deal.

The group consists of singer Kortni Turner, Aidan Thompson on guitar, bassist Jamie Frith and newest addition Tony on drums. Sour Cherry have been playing together for some time now, with regular festival appearances and many shows under their collective belt.

Kortni leads the parade with her catchy tunes and memeroble lyrics. As chief songwriter she pens her lyrics based on personal life experiences. Her very first song Butterfly, written at the tender age of 16, is still a great favourite with the fans. She started the group with Jamie – guitarist, along with “technical boffin” Aidan and talented percusionist Tony. Sour Cherry are bringing sunshine to even the most rainy British summer afternoon.

Sour Cherry have grown in popularity since their inception nearly three years ago, advancing from early days playing small gigs in pubs to sold out gigs at the O2, Leadmill and Plug in Sheffield. Their social media is strong and their fan base continues to grow. They know how important their fans are, naming some of their younger fans “Little Cherries”. The entire band love to perform live and are never camera shy.
