Top games for December 2015

Untitled-1

With the holiday season fast approaching, one of the biggest industries in the world lays out its offerings for us all to marvel at.

Here is a look at some of the top game releases this month.

Just Cause 3 was developed by Avalanche Studios.

Just Cause 3 – Release date 1st December

This game is a goliath, not just in its size but in how impressive everything looks at first glance. The graphics are smooth and refined, the destruction to your environment is incredible and it plays really fluidly. The grapple hook feature is pretty impressive as you can pretty much attack any object in the game and use it to your own wicked deeds.

You are basically sent to a village as character Rico Rodriguez who is a regime change operative, EX-CIA of course, to end the terror of Di Ravello the local dictator. Given a wing suit, parachute, “Mission Impossible” style combat and driving skills amongst other weapons and upgrades he can enjoy along the way, Rico can cause as much havoc and… I want to say organised chaos as possible. It looks like a fun way to “blow” through a fair few hours on your console.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Siege was developed by Ubisoft Montreal.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Siege – Release date 1st December

For those of you who haven’t read the books of Mr Tom Clancy, the rainbow six are an elite fighting force that solve all the world’s greatest crisis’ and sort them out without them ever hitting the news. Think Black Op’s style stuff, off the books with no trace – that sort of thing – and the good news is that the games are pretty good at replicating certain “scenarios” for you to play through too.

Teamwork is the aim of the game here and if you have four extra friends to play along with the 5 vs 5 mode is probably going to be a heck of a lot more gripping than your average Call of Duty or Battlefield death match would be. There will be a story mode to enjoy but I’m sure that this one is going to have a very successful multiplayer base.

Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater 5 was developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games.

Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater 5 – (Xbox 360 & PS3 only) – Release date 18th December

Tony Hawk – what a super hero he was during the 90’s. One of the legends of the skateboarding world and a guy who has been responsible for many people spending long hours into the night trying to do a 200m long grind followed by an Ollie into a 360 heelflip ending in a 720 superman on a half pipe. If that made no sense then this probably isn’t the game for you but if you remember the joys of running around competing strange missions for people in Tony Hawk’s Underground, you will love the new look.

Rollercoaster Tycoon World was developed by Nvizzio Creations.

Rollercoaster Tycoon World – (PC Only) – Release date 12th December

This series was something I know that most PC gamers have owned or played at some stage in their lives. The Tycoon series basically gave you the capacity to be the top man in a multi-million pound/dollar company that focused on one aspect of business. Obviously they wanted to make this fun so Rollercoasters, Zoos and trains, to name a few, are designed to let you live life at the top and make the decisions that can make you a success or a failure. Of course you can also have fun with it and send rollercoasters flying off the end of a nonexistent track but hey, that choice I leave to you.

Special Mentions

A few games have just come out however and I strongly suggest if they aren’t in your basket already, its good Christmas is round the corner.

Call of Duty – Black Ops 3 was developed by Treyarch.

Call of Duty – Black Ops 3

Call of Duty servers are normally overloading over the Christmas period so you can be certain of one thing, there will be a huge divide between those who are already veterans and the noobs who are still learning the controls. A great game with a strong story line, a huge multiplayer experience (as always) and a properly, genuinely fun zombies mode to boot.

Fallout 4 was developed by Bethesda Game Studios.

Fallout 4

A game I have raved about for so long finally came to our consoles last month and has subsequently not left my disc tray. Set in the apocalyptic style future where the atomic wars of man have left the earth scarred and burned, a man (or woman) sets off to find his son and save him from unknown dangers. A huge open world RPG with power armour battles, adaptable weaponry and an engaging storyline.
